mPLAR Testimonials

Chris
When Chris registered with Bluewater Adult Education he had 4 credits on his transcript. Through the mPLAR process, he was eligible to earn up to 22 credits; 12 credits at the grade 9/10 level and 10 credits at the grade 11/12 level. Earning the 12 compulsory grade 9/10 credits involved Chris writing assessments in math, science, Canadian history and Canadian geography. Due to his previous work experience, Chris was able to earn his 10 senior mPLAR credits immediately by providing copies of paystubs and Records of Employment. To complete his OSSD, Chris needed his 4 last credits, including the Ontario Literacy Course which he completed through an online summer school course. He also completed 2 cooperative education credits through his employment, allowing him to register in the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program and begin working towards his apprenticeship as a truck and coach diesel mechanic. Lastly, Chris completed the grade 12 English credit through the 10-week hybrid night class. In 7 months, he graduated with his OSSD.

Within 6 months, Aisha had earned the OSSD.
